The Adoption Chronicles

Miss Ellie Q "Aunt" Laura (and Elizabeth too) made these adorable shirts just for us! They say "I'm a little sweet pea" "I'm a little sweet pea too" and I'm a little sweet pea three"...except Adelyn spit up on hers before we could take a photo! So, I put two of Ellie on here since she was looking so adorable - having her usual pleasant look about her. :) Oh, and the "peas" in the pod are the actual babies when they were still inside - its an ultrasound photo of all three heads side by side! Laura got crafty and with a little help from photoshop made this design with the pea pod! So creative I tell ya! Changed our lives forever! On August 1, 2009 we received our donor family's profile in the mail! We'd waited what seemed like an eternity and it was finally here! It was one of the happiest days of my life (to date - obviously then finding out I was pregnant and then babies being born tops that day just a *little* :) but it was still a very important step in our adoption). We'll always remember that day. In my journal I had all this info I'd researched about embryos and IVF. One thing I remember specifically writing down is information about day 3 verses day 5 old embryos. Day 5 are called "blastocysts" and can sometimes have better success rates. I just remember hoping to receive blastocyst embryos thinking maybe, just maybe we'd beat the odds and get pregnant. Not only did we receive blastocysts, there were 15 of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi! I just wanted to take a minute to say we're all still doing really well and thank you all to those who have left kind blog messages/emails/phone calls too! I'm really trying to keep up with everyone but my inbox is overflowing! ;) Thanks to those who have brought meals, given sweet gifts, and your time to snuggle our trio! We had a little scare yesterday...well, I was doing my best not to freak out...okay, I was freaking out (again) BUT Adelyn had woke up several times from her naps with this eye goop stuff (green/yellow) and her eye was getting worse throughout the day and swollen even. After the second nap/feed/diaper in the afternoon I decided to call the pediatrician and Clint. Her diaper was bad too so I thought it was a virus or something! I was so sad for her and kept saying to myself "they're only 4 weeks old! They can't get sick!" Anyway, long story short, I got an appointment just in time before the office closed for the day and Clint came ...

Hi everyone! I just wanted to report we're all doing great! I've been wanting to write a post/post more photos but life is a *little* busy right now. Everything is going well. Babies are eating and growing (Adelyn is a little chunker-you should see her!! lol.) little guy Quincy is growing and Ellie is growing but is still super light compared to her brother and sister. Still continuing to pump milk for babies - having to freeze a ton of it. We need to buy a seperate freezer we're realizing actuallly. Funny, but true. I figure we'll need it later becasue I don't know how I will keep up when the babies are drinking 8 ounces each! I'm trying to stay on top of my facebook messages and emails but I'm not doing the greatest job.
